Descriptions

Descriptions for videos or image form a strong content source. They are used by search mechanism to understand the content of your videos/images and resulting appropriate results in search results.

How to add description to your media?​

Description of a video is entered mannually or generated via AI.

Creating description manually​

  1. Goto all collection view and choose the video.
  2. Go to video details section on the right side and click on the manage description button.
  3. This will open a modal window with a textarea to enter the description.
  4. Enter the details of the video, and hit save button to save it.
  5. Close the modal by clicking on the close button.
  6. You can see first few words of the description in the details panel now.

Creating description via AI​

If you have enabled AI in the settings and have the AI models downloaded, you can generate description of the video. This is done in two steps. The system tries to extract the transcript out of the video if there are conversations. And then it tries to analyse the visual of the video and tries to map with the audio to give meaningful description.

AI descriptions are experimental and may not accurately generate what you expect. As these are generated completely offline, it may not be aware of the location/character names. Should you feel the the description is vague, try for 2-3 times as you please. You may choose the advanced model quality if you are in basic or standard mode. Note that generarting description may take a while based on length, resolution, AI model quality, your system hardware. For smaller videos, it may fishing within few secs and it may take half an hour if your video is a 2-3 hours long movie with 4k resolution. Please be patience while the AI is generating the description.

If you are still not satisfied, you may edit the content generated and save the description using the manual way described in first section of this page.

Reset description​

Reset description is available only in bulk editing mode. Select all the videos or images you want to reset description for and click on the "Reset MetaData" button.
